For this project, I transferred three rooms from my home into the Sala Cattaneo at the Consulate General of Italy in Lugano, faithfully preserving their original arrangement.
The site-specific installation comprised everyday furniture and personal objects — books, teacups, a sofa, tables, rugs, an armchair, and stools — topped with accumulations of woven pieces that I have been making daily for years as part of the process of creating my tapestries, and which were present in that exact form and at that particular moment in my home. Stripped of all superstructures, the project directly transfers a lived-in and inhabited environment into the exhibition space. Here, forms absorb and assume new forms, drawing attention to the processes of construction and deconstruction of places, both physical and internal.
