Questo nucleo di lavori è composto da una serie di opere realizzate in camera oscura attraverso procedimenti chimici, volutamente non controllati, su poliesteri emulsionati piegati.
Le opere simulano negativi fotografici e album di famiglia. Superfici fluide e sfaccettate su cui tentano di imprimersi ricordi instabili e memorie evanescenti che si ridefiniscono continuamente attraverso un gioco di cangianze e trasparenze. Chiazze di luce bruciata si alternano a nebulose di colore e segni, come flashback che emergono dall’inconscio, costituendo racconti fatti di astrazioni psicologiche e sentimentali. I titoli di ogni singola opera prendono spunto dalle date e luoghi reali scritti dietro una selezione di fotografie della mia infanzia.
This body of work consists of a series of works created in the darkroom through deliberately uncontrolled chemical processes on folded, emulsion-coated polyester. The works simulate photographic negatives and family albums. They are fluid, multifaceted surfaces upon which unstable memories and evanescent recollections attempt to imprint themselves, continually redefining themselves through an interplay of iridescence and transparency. Patches of burnt-out light alternate with nebulas of colour and marks, like flashbacks emerging from the unconscious, forming narratives composed of psychological and emotional abstractions. The title of each individual work draws on the dates and locations written on the backs of a selection of photographs from my childhood.
